MSV president-elect honored as Woman of Distinction by YWCA

MSV President-Elect Cynthia Romero, M.D. has been chosen as a Woman of Distinction by the South Hampton Roads YWCA. Each year, the YWCA of South Hampton Roads recognizes twelve outstanding women who have made significant contributions to their community through their professional activities and volunteer efforts.

An Eastern Virginia Medical School graduate, Dr. Romero is a family physician in private practice with her partner and mother, Aleli Romero, M.D. and with her office administrator and father, Deacon Cris Romero. A Hampton Roads native, Dr. Romero sees patients at Romero Family Practice in Virginia Beach and is the chief medical officer and vice president for quality and medical affairs at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.

She will be inaugurated as MSV president at the MSV annual meeting in Oct. 2010. Dr. Romero has served as a member of the MSV board of directors, legislative committee, house of delegates, and executive committee as well as on the MSV Insurance Agency and MSV Political Action Committee board of directors.

Way to go! This was certainly not surprising news to those of us who were at EVMS with you. Your strengths are definitely new-worthy. Very proud of your accomplishments.
