DMAS switching provider enrollment agents

Virginia’s Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is in the process of transitioning its Fiscal Agent Services and Provider Enrollment functions to ACS, Inc. from First Health Services Corp. The set-up process will take several weeks and users should expect to receive new passwords by the end of March. Testing of the electronic transition will occur Feb. through April 30 in anticipation of a June 2010 changeover to ACS.

More information regarding the testing process is included in the memo from ACS. The intent of this test is a communications validation to ensure on the first day of the transition, you will be able to conduct business with ACS just as you do with the incumbent fiscal agent today. The initial internal testing of HIPAA compliant transactions has been sucessfully completed.
